Introduction: Possibly one of the most important sites in our history in association with the struggle of Y Cymry, you will note it's situation on Offa's Dyke and how close it is to the English Border today. This possibly why, no doubt 'Welsh Brits' who vandalised the site by planting a forest within just had to include E"R, see link below to commemorate the 1953 Commemoration in 1953. Note plans are afoot by the Forestry Commission to plant more 'English Royal Forests' in Wales during 2012 another Jubilee Year and in 2013 60th Anniversary of the Coronation. Of course so called 'Welsh Republicans' will be doing very little about all this, pretty pathetic yes! But ironically they will waste time doing little of use, like dodging any protest action against visits of English Royalty to Cymru/Wales.

Other than this note that there is no mention of the Battle of Cefn Digoll on the CPAT Notice Board at site and why such a Notice with history of the battle is not placed at begining of the trail amazes me, not really after all this is Cymru/Wales. Will Maldwyn/Powys Patriots do something about that as contacting CPAT office in Welshpool requesting such similar to that at Rhyd Chwima be placed at Cefn Digoll and at start of all footpaths to the site:

The Battle of Cefn Digoll, also known as the Battle of the Long Mynd, was a battle fought at Long Mountain near Welshpool, Powys, in 630. The battle was fought ...
We took the Offa's Dyke trail indicated on map in links above, getting to point here at start is best achieved by car via Leighton or Buttington outside Welshpool or via Forden if coming from South but note this route is by narrow lanes which will also take you to Long Mountain (Roman Road).
Short Walk Through Wooded Lane.
Take Gate on the Right.
Flag Indicates Way, we're using Baneri Llywelyn given the Gwynedd Connection. Gwynedd Patriots Take Note and Interest as potential for commemorations maybe?
Looking Back Down The Lane.
Looking West across to Powysian 'Sacred Hills' around area of Cefn Goch, it will be upon these hills that the English Government/E.U. Empire insists a vast Windmill Plantations be placed. In collaboration with WAG, RenewablesUKCymru, CAT Corris, Friends of the Earth (not of Wales) and Plaid 'Green' Cymru. Unfortunatly, the silence and reluctance of most Welsh Nationalists, Political and Cultural as well so called 'Alternative Nationalists' inc a 'Pathetic Fringe plus a load of perfectly passive closet so called patriotic bloogers - MAKES OF THEM CYMRIC COLLABORATORS WITH THE WINDMILL MASTER ROBBER BARONS OF GLOBAL CORPORATE CAPITALISM AND THUS LETS FACE IT 'BRADWYR' TOO! Whom also shall be feeling soon the Dragon's Roaring Hot Breath on their necks!
A Thorn Tree Loaded With Red Berries - An Hard Cold Winter Coming? Would like to see Dafydd Elis Thomas thrown on this tree!!!
Continue waliking up hill along side forest and then through gate and continue along side the forest.
Cefn Digoll/Beacon Ring in sight not far to go.
See the gate, way into Cefn Dogoll/Beacon Ring.
Views are terrific, that's Powys Castle in the distance.
Another view of our Powysian 'Sacred Hills', what patriot worth is salt would stand by and let this 'Windmilling Land Grab' happen to our landscape heritage. If you would let it happen be by design or default, stupidity or laziness then may you be cursed by our ancient Celtic Gods of old! Otherwise, join the Welsh Resistance against the Windmill Master Robber Barons, become involved with local campaigns as MAP and CMS against the 'Windmills of Mass Destruction' of Cymru/Wales - Your Country - Your Homeland - Your Cymric Heartlands not that of Global Corporate Capitalist Gangsters, Stockmarket Spivs and Y Crachach Newydd 'Wise Guys', yes I mean 'Crachia' of course. Follow example of Pobl Powys!

This is Cefn Digoll/Beacon Ring.
Unfortunatly, I had no time to walk entirely around.
Pity! but always a next time and I shall certainly return.
Sian says perfect place to visit as a community or family outing for an Autumn Break or even in the Winter with snow on ground the view must be stunning. Could spend Xmas day here, no? best time I guess for the kids (Iuenctid Gwerin Owain or Glyndwr Rambler Youth) is Summer, easy walk and safe, they will just love counting pheasants running around everywhere. The wood is something else, a real wonderland for children but keep an eye on them or othewise they may be taken off to fairy land or be quite happy to join the Welsh Outlaw ghosts who once hid out here? Spend a good day there, picnic and mabigion tales of olden times the ideal read, when you walk around the wood you will see it's a place to let your 'Celtic Imagination' run wild and free!
Too bad about that 1953 Business.
Thus that in mind. I dedicated Cefn Digoll as Camp 'lluest' Cadwallon

Toni's White Eagle Flag was placed at rest, perhaps fittingly under the E"R as symbolic that patriotic radical Nationalist Resistance to the English Crown and Rule over our Country is no more than a load of play acting, posing, posturing and parading about as annually at Rali Cilmeri. These times no more than harmless 'Tartan Taffery' silly sentimentalism for times passed and a 'Dream of Freedom' well passed it's 'Use By Date' 2011.
